join us for your reunion, when the lawrenceville school celebrates your class and your longstanding connection and commitment to big red.

the importance of reunion giving

to commemorate your milestone reunion, lawrentians are asked to participate in their class’s gift effort by making a contribution to the lawrenceville fund (tlf). gifts to tlf support the school’s most pressing needs and allow lawrenceville to provide important resources for the next generation of lawrentians.
reunion classes commit to increased dollar and participation goals and lead the way for the overall lawrenceville fund. gifts from reunion classes contribute over 30% of the total given by lawrenceville alumni annually. the impact of reunion giving cannot be overstated.
as important as the dollars are, tlf's equally significant purpose is its spirit. through gifts to tlf, lawrentians demonstrate their pride and gratitude for their lawrenceville education by reinvesting in the school. all classmates are asked to participate in the reunion gift. it is a tradition of giving back that links lawrentians of every era.

  • what counts in the class reunion gift?

nearly all new gifts and pledges made in your reunion year are recognized, including gifts to the lawrenceville fund; capital gifts, such as gifts to financial aid and faculty support; and many types of planned gifts. some alumni have other funds they support, but reunion giving emphasizes and prioritizes current-year tlf gifts.
  • why you should make a five-year pledge for your reunion gift

lawrenceville encourages reunion alumni to make a multi-year pledge to the lawrenceville fund, and we hope you will consider doing so.
    1. pledging your support over five years amplifies the impact of your gift. your total commitment is recognized in the larger class reunion gift announced at the conclusion of the fiscal year, june 30.
    2. making a multi-year pledge makes your life easier! you will not receive solicitation appeals from the school for the duration of your commitment, only pledge reminders.
    3. pledging allows lawrenceville to function more efficiently. having a large percentage of alumni pledged over time helps us forecast how best to allocate our resources each school year.
    4. pledging helps lawrenceville and your class increase its participation rate in the lawrenceville fund!  you won’t have to remember if you made your gift – you set it and forget it until your next reunion.
  • 50th reunion giving

the 50th reunion is arguably the most important milestone a class celebrates together.  it is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, see the school as it is today, and reflect on your unique legacy to lawrenceville.  as you approach your 50th reunion, we hope you will consider making a personally meaningful financial investment in the future of the school.
the 50th reunion class gift recognizes a broad range of past, current and future gifts.  all new gifts and gift intentions beginning on july 1 of the 46th reunion year and ending on june 30 of the 50th reunion year, are included to encourage stretch gifts and more expansive thinking about gift possibilities. if you choose to make a pledge, you will have five years to fulfill your commitment – allowing you to maximize the impact of your gift to lawrenceville.
here are some of the ways you can contribute to your class reunion gift:
    the lawrenceville fund
the lawrenceville fund is the school’s annual fund, which makes up about 10 percent of the school’s operating expenses each year. it is vitally important to the day-to-day operations of the school. funds are unrestricted, which allows the school to support the areas of greatest need. these most commonly include financial aid, faculty support, athletics, and the arts.
    capital giving
capital gifts provide essential funds to maintain those qualities that define lawrenceville. these gifts include endowed funds for scholarships, campus infrastructure and faculty chairs, as well as funding for current projects and operational needs.
    planned giving
planned gifts to lawrenceville include bequests, life-income arrangements, and other deferred gifts. making a planned gift to lawrenceville also qualifies you for membership in the john cleve green society. for more information, visit the planned giving page.
